01 /Confirm whether this mode should rotate
Look up the exact model's turntable option and selected mode. Whirlpool documents a turntable-off feature for manual cooking on some over-range models. That is an example, not a feature on every microwave. A model designed without a rotating tray should not be assessed against another appliance's plate behavior.
Record whether the same normal cooking setting previously rotated. A timer countdown is not necessarily a cooking command. Do not run the microwave empty to watch for motion; use the result already observed with food and preserve any warning or sound.
02 /Check normal tray seating when stopped and cool
Follow the owner's manual for handling the removable plate and support used in ordinary cleaning. Look for a support not seated as shown, visible food debris or a dish that had touched the cavity wall. Whirlpool identifies tray/support installation as a relevant check on the models in its guidance.
Do not force the drive coupler, reach through openings below the plate or substitute a similar-looking tray. Record cracks or missing parts; correct replacement depends on the complete model. A safe owner adjustment may resolve seating, while recurring stoppage after normal seating still needs assessment.
03 /Keep rotation and heating concerns separate
Describe whether the tray never moved, moved briefly or clicked, and whether food also stayed cold. Use the no-heat guide for a changed heating result. Do not deliberately jam a tray or operate with a bypassed door switch to reproduce movement.
Stop use with sparks, smoke, burning odor or visible damage. Both GE and CPSC warn that internal microwave electrical hazards can remain after power is disconnected. Do not remove the bottom or outer cover to access a motor; owner-accessible tray care does not make cabinet work a safe next step.
04 /Confirm repair acceptance before paying for a visit
Provide the model, countertop/over-range/built-in/drawer installation, selected mode and tray condition. Ask whether the exact equipment and access are accepted before arranging a diagnostic visit. A mounted appliance should remain installed until access is planned.
Routine setting or seating guidance may be sufficient. If a repair is proposed, consider the written estimate, available parts, warranty and replacement option for your own appliance. CHANTAFIX has not published a universal microwave repair-versus-replace price cutoff; not every model is economical to repair.
05 /California visit scope and terms
CHANTAFIX works from a Glendale base within 33 listed California service ZIPs. Check your ZIP first; an included ZIP does not confirm every address or appointment availability. A written estimate comes before repair work. Workmanship coverage is 90 days for the repaired issue; replacement parts follow the manufacturer's warranty. California's contact number is (213) 255-5295. Use the regional contact controls to discuss the model and request availability; a preferred time is not a confirmed appointment.
